No EU option for TRNC

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Boulio
A federal Model is fine, but the the type Christofias is seeking as he's not underlying the correct conditions of a Working Federal Structure, like let's say the Belgium or Swiss Model. His removes of the the Partner elements of a Federal Model as found in the two examples I have given and set conditions that aims to destroy any such structure. Of course you do not agree, and perhaps we will remain as we are for a while, but what I am also saying is that the EU now feel responsible for interfering with the Cyprus conflict and are now being blamed after not honouring their Verbal promises prior to the Annan Plan referendum. In short, the EU messed up and they will not continue with their current policy forever - hence, think about what the EU said immediately after the ratification of the New EU Lisbon treaty!

Also, the TRNC has never been confronted with an Ultimatum to Dissolve itself - that even you must admitt is very weird don't you think? Instead Eroglu is allowed to get back into his KKTC Mercedes Benz and Drive to and from the TRNC when meeting Christofias. Why is this allowed to happen - Why is Turkey still an EU candidate country if what the GCs are accusing it of in Cyprus is Unacceptable? Instead, the EU give petty warning and continues its journet with Turkey. It allows flights from the EU to ERCAN via Turkey and has never stopped an import and export to and from Northern Cyprus Via Turkey. Do you Greek Cypriot Not find this strange?

So, it's ok to trade via Turkey and not direct from Cyprus! Is that Not worst for the Greek Cypriots? I would have thought that the Greek Cypriots would fly to the chance of giving the TC-TRNC even the requirement of Direct Trade just to Remove the Arm of the Republic of Turkey and somehow Embrace the TRNC in the hope that it, and its people would one unite as one? I think the GC have got it all wrong, don't you?

I say give them Varoshite, let us trade from a port which we can control.

I have heard enough horror stories from traders about the ports that were under GC control back in the day.

Plenty of dirty tricks up their sleeves

how about the varosia returned under eu or un and the famagusta port to be jointly administered by both t/c and g/c under the eu.

How about, they have a port and we have a port?

Fair I think, considering they have more than 1 port.

EU administration really means nothing to anyone.

If the GC's "accidentally" delaying the shipment for a day, causing you to loose an entire crop, there really isn't a whole lot the EU can do about that.

You have to understand that our prosperity had been targeted by some GC's long before any conflict started and escalated to where we are now and still strictly being executed.

TC's need to have control or there is no other way.

Jointly i think is better it will eventually build trust between the two communiies and under the EU MEANS EVERYTHING since in the fututre state of affairs that how cyprus will function."They"meaning who?the t/c can export from the free ports in the south as well.

Boulio,
German Model! If we spoke the same language, followed the same culture, followed the same religious leaders and didn’t have such a Bloody untrusting history then I would say maybe, but not in this generation or the next two if I may add. The reason the Germans were swift about that type of formula is because those from the east and west are the same people, while we are very different indeed. I regard myself as a Turk first, one who's a descendent from the Ottoman landing in 1571 - My family history and line is documented (No Greek in it what so ever, unless a Pasha grabbed a foreign woman here or there!) It will take decades to build up any trust. Then, I would say, how about the Yugoslavian Model? An amicable split seeing that the Belgium and Swiss Models are not good enough. Or, we could continue to follow the same course: Turkey says remove the isolation for the opening of its ports to Greek Cypriot traffic, while the Greek Cypriots continue to once again remain defiant. Turkey then says fine, and the endless Locked UN talks continue until the Turkish Population/Migration in Cyprus reaches in Par to that of the ROC, Turkey becomes an even more influential Geopolitical Ally to the EU and U.S and then Turkey suddenly favours a non-Federal unification deal because there will then be 1 Million Turks on the island and 800 Thousand Greek Cypriots - Hence, check out the possible outcome if Turkey decides to tear down the physical border in Cyprus one day in the future. If I were a Greek Cypriot, I would cut my loses and recognise A "Turkish Cypriot State" now or at least remove/allow Direct Trade for the North, as you are falling directly into Turkey's master plan. Don't believe me? Just think about What Turkey has gotten away with since 1974 in Cyprus, how much the population has grown and how much more influential Turkey is in Northern Cyprus than ever. You Greek Cypriots are making a terrible mistake.

That is how it was and it did not work. Why go back to something we already had and know does not work?

If you want to build trust then let us deal with our own stuff.

Anyhow, if we have a federal system none of this would matter as we would have everything we want and so would they and then we can move from there.
