If every soldier went home during the weekend then the country would be undefended at that time You will get days off, but how often will depend on where exactly you will serve. In some places you will get 2 or even 3 days off every week, in some other places you might have one. When I served we could stay in for a whole month without going home, but now things are better. By the way, "day off" means you leave at noon and you come back the next day early morning. Very few people actually enjoy serving in the army. It is a duty not something you do for fun. Most soldiers count days backwards and can't wait for the day they will be released. Keep in this mind

yes but when you reach 21 you dont need permission to leave cyprus they cant stop you.
are u 100% sure, do u have any proof?
proof? go ask the people in Nicosia who give the paper to leave (adeia e3odou), ask the police ask any one, the rule is you dont need permission to leave once you reach 21 i cant prove it but you can ask and they will tell you the same
