According to information reported in Sigma the legal department of the European Parliament reached an opinion, stating explicitly that the issue can not apply anything other than Protocol 10, which provides that the entire territory of the Republic is the European territory. The opinion also notes that any decision taken on the issue of direct trade should have the approval of the Cyprus Republic, which is a full member of EU.

shahmaran THERE WAS A ARTICLE YESTERDAY IN THE Politis news paper writen by a group of t/c famagustian representing doctors,enginerers,lawyers,importers imploring the t/c govt to hand over varosia to the EU and allowing the port to open under eu regs.They claim the whole area would get MASSIVE BOOST. But like i said no comprimise whats so ever on turkeys side.
