Drinking and driving is a very serious offence irrespective of forgetting to turn up for the Court.
Seriously, you should consider obtaining some help with the drinking problem.

she goes out a lot and drinks in bars, i would not call it a drinking problem.

i would call it having a good time, not needing help :)

Drinking and driving is extremely serious.
That is why a court appearance is necessary.

of course its serious, i am not saying its not, i just dont think she has an alcohol problem. my uncle died for 1 minute when drink driving, and to this day he still drinks drunk with out caring. i myself nearly went on head on with another car after drink driving, and have not done it since. and its very serious problem so many deaths are caused that way, you think it will never happen to you but it does. she wont face jail time but fine and points on the license maybe even a driving ban. i was banned 6 months just for speeding.

Everyone has an alcohol problem if they know they must not drink and drive and still they do.

i think its more about not wanting to leave the car and take a taxi then it being an alcohol problem thinking they will be ok or feel ok to drive, but i am sure you know more about this stuff then me :)

i saw this tv show about police arrests and they arrested some one more over the limit then they had ever seen and he talked like he was not drinking at all. so even if they are so much over the limit they feel ok to drive and that they wont crash, i dont see how thats having an alcohol problem

DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. PERIOD.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN ALCOHOL PROBLEM TO CAUSE DEATH ON THE ROADS.

IF YOU HAVE AN ALCOHOL PROBLEM, YOU ONLY HURT YOURSELF AND FAMILY.

DRINK DRIVING CAN HURT INNOCENTS AS WELL.

i agree 100% re Den i dont even have a sip of alcohol if i am going to drive now.

Oh sod it......!!! Am agreeing with D as well...... must be getting older.

If I may be permitted Ms fig head; how many times over the alcohol limit were you found to be?

You know, in Cyprus, it is extremely rare for females to drink and drive and we want to keep it that way so that we can tackle the male problem of drink and drive which I cannot stress enough is of the utmost unacceptability.

I think you are feeling very guilty of the drink-drive charge and could not face the Court, no?
