Carrefour and Orphanides about to commit harakiri !!!!It serves the bloody sods right they have had it to themselves for years now fleecing the public. How on earth can they possibly justify the extravagant prices they demand !!!
Pitta bread at Lidl , a packet of 5 for ....39p !!!!! Lets hope Lidl will take on the bakery shops that demand £2.00 for a loaf of bread !!
Go get them Lidl !!!

Its a busy supermarket in Greece, but here there is some worry for the pricing cartels, who have had things their own way a little to long.

The last paragraph is interesting.

Daily Phileleftheros said yesterday that supermarkets are pressuring suppliers not to provide LiDL with local produce, and have already terminated their collaboration with certain suppliers who have struck up partnerships with the German discount chain.

Who cares what they sell? Its the competition we need. Consumers should rule, they don,t in Cyprus. Ikea is one of the most productive shops in Nicosia because of their products and more importantly their prices.

All hail to Lidl :D :D

Ikea is nice store and has ok things considering the price but the quality is not high. I hope that when they talk about lower prices at LiDL they mean lower prices on known brands and not just LiDL home brands.

I,m not a massive fan of their designs myself BUT maybe I go once or twice a year and buy the items in the marketplace, which is superior quality and cheaper than anything else I have found here for the same price. They also have a different approach to soft furnishings that is more my style. Last time I went it was so full in there we decided to not bother, you could,nt even find a parking space in the car parks or on the pavement  The turnover they have had last year in Cyprus has even shocked Ikea. Well done them. So we have the Swedes now lets make way for the Germans :D :D
