Lidl Cyprus should have the lowest prices in the EU, since our VAT is still the lowest in the EU, and if I am not mistaken is even lower for food products. Moreover, the employee salaries are usually lower than the average salary in the EU.

Nevertheless, I doubt they will be cheaper.

Importing things in Cyprus will be much more expensive though.
Is lidl cheaper on everything or on their own brand items? For example carefour has carefour brand cereals which are cheaper than say Kellogg. Will the same Kellogg cereals be much cheaper in lidl than they are in carefour? And are the prices of lidl the same in all countries? Maybe lidl stores in Germany and other big countries will have products much cheaper than lidl stores in Cyprus because the market is much bigger there.
I believe that they will not carry all brands in their shops and what they have will be most likely cheaper than other shops. I found a list on the Internet about LIDL products and with what brand quality you can compare
them. Very interesting. (Http://www.supermarketownbrandguide.co.uk)

Example
SSSBran Lidl Lidl's Crownfield Bran Flakes, Cereals, 500g.
A cheaper alternative to the brand.
Competing Brand: Kellogg's Bran Flakes

It depends. For example, if you import things from China to Cyprus they will be cheaper, e.g., Bo Concept. But, the witty fella at BC Cy. will tell you they are imported from Europe.

I must admit they're delicious and only 2.50 at Smart instead of 4.50 elsewhere!
