Telephone rent increase?

Postby Pete » Fri Aug 05, 2005 9:04 pm

Hey all, my grandad here in the UK received a letter the other day from CyTA.

He did pay rent on his telephone in Paphos of a couple of pounds a month.

The letter stated that it was due to rise on the 1st of June or July to £5ish if your earnings were less than £4000 or more if they are higher. It also included some free calls.

Is this correct? He's misplaced the letter so I can't check for him :(

The have been a number of price rises connected with internet useage;
dial up connection charges went up 175% and dial up connection charges by 210%, while mobile call costs have come down. CYTA have a monopoly on the former and have to compete on the latter. It is shameful.

I have not heard of any 'means tested' charges for line subsriptions.

Thanks Svetlana; so there's been price increases for dial up connections but not for line subscriptions?

:D

Edit: Ah, looks like he was talking about this:

Hi Pete

Dont want to move too far off topic but the latest rises in internet costs have caused me to consider satellite connection, even CYTA's broadband is fairly slow.

When will they realise that they are holding the country's commercial development back? Plus young people's use of the Net.
