E.LA.M. The National People's Front

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby linguist » Wed Jan 05, 2011 7:52 pm

I really have to step in whenever Theresa Mitsopoulou is mentioned (usually by people who have not heard of Occam's Razor, or of 'Indo-European'). The woman points to linguistic cognates - which we expect to find between any two Indo-European languages anyway, at varying depths of abstraction - to concoct wild and unlikely stories. Most offensive of all: she cites the snake design on Nelson Mandela's collar as evidence of the connection between Greeks and Zulus, overlooking 1) snakes are near-universal motifs in human art, and 2) Nelson Mandela is XHOSA and not ZULU. If and when the archaeology is produced, I will eat my words, but in the mean time, come on...

Look, Deniz. if extra terrestrial life ever appears anywhere on earth, this Klik geezer will claim that they were of Greek origin.

Klik, do you know anything about "xroniko tis Monenbasias"? While waiting for your response, I would like to reassure you and Yialousa, that today there are no Greeks. Hard luck, but this is the truth. Livanelli, once said that Greece is his spiritual mother land and like him other Turks can say this too, and I have more respect for these people than "Greeks" like you.

If it makes you feel any better, you are of Greek origin too, Deniz. You have the blood of Socrates and Plato running in your blood vessels or, you share some of their genes.

You never know Bananiot. My English name apparently is derived from Dionysius.

My neighbour Flora just left, She cooked some Okra/Bamyades and brought some over. (what a lovely Cypriot tradition ). I was trying to see some traces of 'Chinese' in her to no avail. I did keep my mouth shut, her 'curses' are powerful.

Re-read what he says O. He does not mention 'father'. I thought I was the one going blind.
