I have no right to question a 30 year old, and not just a 30 year old , a well educated person, not only marrying his first cousin, but a 15 year old?...is this it?...and you are ok with this coz it happen in "democratic" country?..whats there to challenge?...only a deviate would do such a thing...i can understand a peasant doing it, but not someone well educated that should have known better of the pitfalls...
1...mixing of blood within the family
2...marrying a 15 year old?
and you are ok with all this?..

Now if everyone had your mentality, apartheid and slavery would be thriving in todays society...only because in your current, non intelligent frame of mind it's ok because it happens in their "democratic" country...it's their right...now address this...

as far as sebroid is concerned, yes you might be one, but you are also bullshiod...

you wanna prove you are a gc?...it's easy...lets converse in sebriod then...are you upto it?...

Really so if a person cannot speak Greek Cypriot then he can’t be a one. I know at least 10 Greek Cypriot that cannot speak a word of it except skades na fade. Interesting. I have a more appropriate scientific method of proving it to you. Why don’t you post your address so when next time I crap I can send you a sample and then you can get your people to test it for DNA to see if I am a Sebriot or not. I cannot speak Greek cause my mother is not and never spoke to me in Greek and we had minimal contact with Greeks except with my father. And even he hated Greekisim and everything it stood for.
Are you up for a real scientific test.

So, you're only half-'Greek' (perhaps), had very little contact with Greeks, no working knowledge of 'Greek Cypriot', were brought up to hate "Greekism" .... and your interest here is what exactly?

I'm with Boom, you're a "trnc" settler.

Really, I gather that you can test samples and the Greek Cypriots will believe your conclusions. Perhaps I can send you the sample for tests and to Bomerangthingei the control so he can sniff it every so often to remind him of the smells of a real Sebriot. Are you up for it?

If it's a paternity test you're after, try the Jeremy Kyle show.

So you did not like my offer of a scientific testing of my Greek Cypriot heritage with control in your hands for good affect. In essence you obviously do not believe in DNA testing and there was me thinking you are serious man.
You still have not answered my original question. I will ask you again, were you pleased about the affect your thread had in bringing out the plonkers to attack Turkish Cypriots and Pakis for good measure and how has that helped in promoting peace between our communities.
Now, you do believe in peace don’t you or are you one of those Greek Cypriots that has a fetish of paying lip service to our more fascist elements in our society in the guise of true democracy and true freedom? When all they want is to take our lovely country and hand it to the bankrupt Greeks for free.

You must be fair Boomers; this was only a tongue in cheek comment by Bir. There is NO TC who would marry an under-age girl in Cyprus.

Mind you, a sixteen year old girl can marry in the UK as long as she has parental consent. This was the case in the 60's I am not sure if the law has changed.

Hmmm, it is still legal. What barbarity.

Minimum Age and Parental Consent

Throughout the United Kingdom and the British Crown dependencies of Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man, the minimum legal age for getting married is 16 years.

In England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, the written consent of your parents, or legal guardians, is required if you are under 18 years of age. In Jersey, your parents' consent is required if you are under 20 years of age and if they live in the Island, they must give their consent in person. In Guernsey, if your parents live in the Island, they must also give their consent in person. In Scotland, no parental consent is required. Where written consent is required, it will normally have to be given on a consent form provided by the registrar.

If consent is required and your parents, or guardians, are not resident in the United Kingdom, their signatures to the consent should be properly witnessed by a Commissioner for Oaths, a Consular Officer or a notary member of the public such as a lawyer, police office, Justice of the Peace etc.

In exceptional circumstances, a registrar is empowered to dispense with the consent of any person whose consent would otherwise be required. You should contact the registrar of the registration district in which you plan to marry for further information.

The above information was correct at the time of updating. Please check with your registrars office or relevant authorities for current information.

If you still have any unanswered questions about the minimum age or parental consent requirements
of getting married in the United Kingdom, please post your question on our Wedding Forum.

Some US states allow even younger. Seems to me a bit daft to have a minimum age for marriage set lower than the legal minimum age to engage in sexual activity? But it also seems daft to me to have a minimum age for marrying higher than the age allowing you to join the armed services (not sure that marriage isn't the riskier venture tho')

Minnesota: Applicants between the ages of 15 and 18 must have the consent of a parent, guardian or the judge of juvenile court. Applicants younger than 15 needs the written consent of a parent of guardian and the consent of a juvenile court judge.

Pregnant Teens: Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland and Oklahoma allow pregnant teens or teens who have already had a child to get married without parental consent.

South Carolina: If you are under 18, you will need a certified copy of your birth certificate and a notarized statement of parental consent. The minimum age for a female is 14 and it is 16 for a male.

there is no tongue in cheek with his comment mate...he should have known better...paedophilia shouldn't be regarded lightly with a tongue in cheek comment....especially him living in OZ...

in any case i can understand parental consent, but i do not thisk Gul's pride had any say in it...which parent would consent to a marriage between 15 year old girl and 30 year old man...lets not lose sight of what we are discussing here...

I have 2 daughters and thank god they are 21 and 22...i never had to make this choice...but for bir to even contimplate such an action tongue in cheek or not it was disgusting...

Time bir gets of his high horse and apologise for such comments...he should have known better...

It is bloody wrong, either way you slice it...

bir should have condemn it, rather than asking if i was jealous...especially when he voices concerns regarding the rise of an islamic state in turkey...

you gotta wonder about bir's mental state at times...when it comes to women...
