I've been silently watching this thread all along, apart from where the argument has deviated to (as always) what was your initial point you were trying to make, if any?
hey umit how was the trip?...
the topic was an underage, a 15 year old married to a grown man, 15 years her senior...and first cousins to boot...
now we are not talking about a peasant, this i can undersatnad, not condone it but understand it...we are talking about a well educated man that
1...should have known better with marrying with in the family
2...a grown man marrying, a 15 year old, 15 years her junior...
3...and this man a president of the republic today
you find this acceptable umit?...
Crap like this still happens in Turkey with backward religious folk. When I say backward, they're the type that come with Phd's these days, just like abdullah. I'm going to bed now boomers but if you really wanna understand how scum like abdullah got to where they are now, read through a few of these links when you've got time.

Gulen has owns the "zaman" newspaper which even distributes here in Oz, he also owns "Isik College", islamic private schools across Oz. [/url]
Completely agree !
Let's not forget that Gulen is a fine example of "made in USA" version of so-called "Mild Islamism".
Marrying within family is unfortunately not so uncommon in Turkey even nowadays.
So how about the EU telling Turkey "Come back to accession talks only after you educate and instruct your own people about such ill practices"......
Instead of playing theater with issues such as Cyprob, Kurdish problem, A.G and etc,etc...?
