An old , sun wrinkled farmer is leading his donkey home after a hard day in the fields when all of a sudden the bush he is passing bursts into flame and the voice of god booms out -
"My son .... you have toiled honestly for all of your life, raised a fine family and been a good god fearing man all your life- the least I can do is grant you 1 wish"
The Farmer thinks fast and answers..... "god I wish the troodos mountains were made of solid gold"
God answers " my son .... while this is possible- it is a materialistic demand which, although I am infinite and all powerfull will require an enormous amount of effort does not reflect your own life and will only lead to lazy children and decadence for your cypriot brothers - can you not think of something more worthy"
The Farmer's brow furrows and after an hour he responds -
" God of us all - I wish that Cyprus became 1 country of brothers, living under 1 flag in unity, peace happiness and harmony"
God answers - " would you like those mountains with a diamond snowcap ?? "
