Nice pics of the litter in London GR - I don't doubt it looks like that. However, I haven't lived in London for many many years so have no personal experience of it and it doesn't affect my life here in Cyprus.

But if I did live there - I'd be complaining about it there too and doing something about it.

So when i'm pottering round the picturesque mountain villages and scenic roads of Cyprus on my bike (which i do a lot) and stop to enjpy a good view (or just to have a ciggy break) what do I frequently see ?

Discarded used shotgun cartridges and beer cans
Dumped concrete running down the hill
Fly tipping

The fact that this annoys the fuck out of me does not make me Anti-Cypriot !!!

The fact that some hunters are littering hill-billy twats , concrete truck owners and drivers choose to despoil the countryside and many people would rather tip rubble\old beds\bags of trash on a mountain road rather than dispose of it properly should annoy everyone !!!!!.

I'm not going to develop the obvious conclusions as it would be as counter productive as posting pictures of that shithole called London.

Globally we all need to give a shit about our surroundings not take a shit on it.

The same rubbish is all over the island Oracle. Our people esp. the settlers need a lot of education. Not sure about the tourists though. One would assume they know better not to litter.

I cant remember who it was but the moat around Famagusta Castle is worse (or was worse) than a dump. Someone had posted a photo last year on the cf. Its a universal problem which should be addressed by local councils.

Buy one less tank and the monies saved could pay for a lot of cleansing. Same thing goes for the north too.

I never posted anything anti-British but respected such problems as being dealt with to the best financial and resource abilities of the councilors or whoever were responsible for dealing with these problems, which occur everywhere. At that time I used to jog early in the morning and was disgusted by the amount of vomit in UK streets, signs of all-night revelries and discarded take-aways. Instead, I found myself posting this criticism here to counter-balance a similar one-sided charge by another Brit. So, why do Brits come to Cyprus to go on Cypriot fora and slag off Cyprus?

Why does this person ONLY feel the need to find everyday situations, which would pass as inconveniences that stretched resources try to deal with, and single-out Cyprus as extraordinarily uncaring in all regards?

Interesting threads are ignored because we are forced to give Gasbag et al attention; to open their eyes to the universality of that which they uphold singularly with which to discriminate against Cyprus.

She's turning everyone into a joyless nag like herself!

Personally I think its pure boredom, either slagging and moaning on the forums or propping up the local bar, they leave behind their families, children,grandchildren, social circle, part time jobs, move to another country, fail to learn the local language and are BORED(as best displayed on Cyprus Dying)!!!.

There's a lot of posters trying very hard to stop this going the same way as Cyprus Dying. Obviously the Gasbag has been sent over here to infiltrate and thwart the efforts -- like she thinks she will change the whole of Cyprus back to a British Colony.

It's a pity to see such a mess. And really nothing to do with slagging off Cypriots. Where I'm from the place is pretty clean because for littering:

The minimum fine is $200 plus court assessments. *
The Maximum fine is $1,087 plus court assessments. *
Guilty convictions can lead to jail time between 30 days to one year. The court will also impose community service litter clean-up hours.

And we have police who actually enforce the laws, but that's another topic. It's pretty simple; pick up your garbage.

They can't even be bothered most of the time to open the bin and put their rubbish inside it (I suspect they don't like touching dustbins, like they don't like picking up dogshit). There is often more bags of rubbish clustered round the Mothership Wheelie than there are inside it.

These were on Makenzy beach. The ones down my road are spaced in between the ordinary wheelies. They are treated like 'just another bin'.

They've only been here a week or so. They tried them in Limassol some years back and no one used them properly where I lived off Makarios.

The guy that operates the scrapyard took all his old shite over to the new blue one a couple of days ago. I bet he's delighted they've put one right outside his yard.
