..and you don't have to worry about peeing in it, everyone else does!
Did you know that the fish shag in the see???
Many swallow that water too!!!!
Agree with most of the above, exept winter time, I dont use the pool December - March/April, so dont turn the pump on(as long as PH and Chlor levels are correct).Svetlana wrote:Hi Selena
It is hard to quantify how much a pool will cost to run; partly it depends upon hoiw exposed it is to the sun and wind, alos your elevation (ambient temperature).
I would guess chemicals (Chlorine, PH+/-, algicide and floculent) cost about €200pa, you will need to run the pump for, say, 6-8 hours a day in the summer and 4 hours in the winter, then there is the testing kit etc.
I have had pools in this country and in one where it requierd to be heated; all I will say is that if you attempt to cost/justify a pool, you would not bother. However, to be able to dive in at 2am on a hot summer night is priceless.

Selena79 wrote:Anyone has a rough idea how much does it cost to maintain a swimming pool on a yearly average? Water, electricity, medicine etc....
Thanks a lot
(pool is like a medium one, 4 meters by 8 meters, 2 m deep)
(Also: looking for property to rent in Nicosia, would be glad to get some numbers of reliable and trustworthy agents. Thanks!)

Approx 100 Euros yearly provided:
1. Install a salt chlorinator.
2. Install solar pool pump.
Optional pool solar heater (made in Israel) will enable year round pool use.

No my friend, fish shag in the sea
Gasman wrote:Agree with Lana on the last point - where I am they opted to keep the pool open and maintained all year, rather than close it down during winter on account of the huge task of the initial clean when opening it again - sometimes had to be emptied right out. I've seen the pool cover go under during torrential rain.
I don't know anyone who only spends €100 a year on pool maintenance.
