There are just over 10 million Uyghurs and they don't speak Turkish so what compels you to post manufactured rubbish? :?

Chinese President Jiang Zemin said the Uyghur population was 17.6 million people before he started a six-country trip on October 12, 1999 – a statement recorded in the same day’s “Yomuri” newspaper published in Japan. He said: “China has 17 million 600 thousand Uyghur Muslims”. (Reference: October 12, 1999 “Yomuri” newspaper in Japan). In an article published on April 30, 1997, after the Ili uprising on February 5 in the same year, Mr Mora Monixen reported that the Uyghur population was 20 million people. It is believed that 20 million people reflects the actual number, and this is the figure quoted to interested parties.

The Uyghur (also spelled Uighur or Uigur) language is a Turkic language very similar to Turkish. The term Uyghur means "united" or "allied" and is synonymous with the Turkish name "Tokuz-Oguz", which means "nine tribes".

Why don't you study their language from here and come back and tell us how "similar" to Turkish it is!

Good luck!

 Ohh yeahh! from your favourite creddible source!

Vocabulary comparison

The following is a brief comparison of cognates among the basic vocabulary across the Turkic language family (about 60 words). Note that empty cells do not necessarily imply that a particular language is lacking a word to describe the concept, but rather that the word for the concept in that language may be formed from another stem and is not a cognate with the other words in the row or that the equivalent was unknown to contributors to this article. Also, there may be shifts in the meaning from one language to another, and so the "common meaning" given is only approximate. In some cases the form given is found only in some dialects of the language. Forms are given in native Latin orthographies unless otherwise noted.

Scroll down!

Even there are many similarities between Uygur and TC dialects(pronounciation of lots of words) such as işlemek(to work) - which are no longer used by Turks of Turkey but still being used by TCs and Uygurs- yéngi(new) etc.

The Uygur language is defined by Linguists as being Altaic Turkic and has 13 dialects. Uyghur vocabulary is basically from Turkic stock, but like Uzbek has taken on a large quantity of loan words from Persian. Many internationalisms entered the Uyghur language via Russian, and there are some more recent loans from Chinese. It has many similarities to the Turkish language and is often mistaken for Arabic in it's spoken form. The language traditionally used the Arabic script since the 10th century. The Chinese government introduced a Roman script closely resembling the Soviet Uniform Turkic Alphabet in 1969, but the Persian-Arabic script was reintroduced in 1983, but with extra diacritics to distinguish all vowels of Uyghur. Cyrillic script has been used to write Uyghur in areas previously dominated by Russians, and another Roman script is used in Turkey and on the internet. UigurLanguage.Com provides an English/Uyghur online dictionary. This page also contains several tools for learning the language. Wikipedia's Uyghur Language page also provides several language & translation references.

Anyone can get that, translated as long as they can read the 'Arabic' script and the few extra 'sounds' that they use. Whats the point. In old Yugoslavia people could communicate with each other but their script was different. The Serbs would use Cyrillic , the Croatians and Bosnians the Latin alphabet. The same in Northern India. The same language for communication and different scripts for writing.
Interesting article though. I wish you posted the full article. The same grammar is used through-out.

Btw, I have problems understanding Paphian peasants and they’re only 100 miles away on the same little island, and you expect to understand the Uyghurs?

That's your problem... No matter how far they are... all you need is familiarity to their dialects and a basic knowledge about some hundred words unique to their dialect... the rest is same in all Turkic dialects...
