Taking Dogs Back to the U.K.

Postby hotrod » Sat Oct 02, 2010 8:21 pm

Has anyone taken their dogs back to the U.K?
Ours has Pet Passport all in place, but I've heard different stories.
1. They must travel as cargo at a cost of £600 ?
2. They can travel as excess baggage at whatever the rate is per kilo ?

Any help would be appreciated.

We used British Airways, once, from Larnaca to Heathrow Terminal 5 and it cost 1,200 Euro, flying as Cargo. Was lost once arrived at UK, for a few hours, but we eventually tracked her down! :D

Someone said on this forum, that Cyprus Airways fly pets out, now, and they are much cheaper.

The most important things (apart from Pet Passport) are the final (24-48 hour) check with treatments and the size of the container.

I’m thinking of starting a new international venture called…

“Swap-a-dog!”

The idea is to bring people together who were thinking of emigrating and flying their dogs out to each other’s country and replacing it with the more humane and cost effective pet swapping!

So now Sarah (an imaginary dog owner) heading for Cyprus will acquire John’s dog in Cyprus, and John heading to England will get Sarah’s dog in the UK!

What do you guys think? 8)

That is sooo humane! :D

Can you colour/breed match too?

(You can have 50% of the cost of the flight.)

I'll have one "look-a-like" of this in the UK and one in Cyprus and that will take care of a major expense! :D

Hmm, I sense that…

“Swap-a-job!”

“Swap-a-kid!”

“Swap-a-wife!”

“Swap-a-car!”

“Swap-a-house!”

…are begging to evolve from this, and they can all be neatly encapsulated under the “Swap-a-life!” group of companies! :D

Owning two identical dogs in two different countries is a dishonest and fraudulent rivalry in trade and commerce!
