Talisker, there is enormous potential for collaborations between the UK and Cypriot Institutes and you should be looking towards making links for raising EU grants whose take-ups are notoriously low.

The National Framework Programme 2008-2010 (ΔΕΣΜΗ 2008 - 2010) constitutes the most important initiative undertaken in Cyprus aiming at the growth of scientific research, technological growth and innovation.

The National Framework Programme 2008-2010 addresses the various research institutions, the enterprises and the various public organizations. Its basic objectives are the development of work of quality in a wide spectrum of thematic units, the increase of the total number of researchers, the improvement of competitiveness of enterprises, the creation of upgraded infrastructures and the growth of international networking and collaboration. The budget of the National Framework Programme 2008-2010 is in the area of 160 mills. Euros and it is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
