Papadopoulos and Christofias: the patriot and the fool.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby bubblechris » Tue Oct 05, 2010 5:15 pm

Cymart, I think President Christofias has realised that there will be no solution as typically the Greek Cypriot side cannot has not and will never agree 100% on anything. Unless the TC side backs down and makes a sensible offer there will not be a solution.

Unfortunately partition is the only way forward at the moment. Btw he has also said that he will not stand for re-election if a solution is not achieved.

The sad truth.....

Postby cymart » Tue Oct 05, 2010 6:05 pm

If the G.C side could at least find a way of presenting at least a front that they all agreed on we would not be in the mess we are in now-and the outside world would have taken us more seriously.....there are also people here, lawyers etc, who have made a very lucrative career out of the fact that the Cyprus problem exists and they can keep banging on about it with legal arguments that go on and on without end while in reality they are helping people in Turkey and the North to consolidate the status-quo.With the exception of Vasiliou and Christophias, all the Presidents since Makarios have been lawyers,as well as many ministers and members of parliament....

There is one united front. That is for the total removal of the Turkish troops. But, you don't like that; and so all the rest are excuses!

Cymart, I think you are probably correct with your analysis on Christofias. He has been sending very confusing signals and one can never be sure of the game he is playing.

P.S. Why doesn't oracle restrict herself to the jokes area?

If only there was it would all be so simple!Turkey has never said it will keep its army here forever and is prepared to remove it once a solution is agreed-so why not have an International Conference and then they will be caught bluffing if they are not sincere??
