New border patrols for EU; might keep out Turks.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

New border patrols for EU; might keep out Turks.

Frontex

Where/how should they patrol Cyprus?

Surely it makes sense to patrol the whole periphery of Cyprus, thus preventing further to-and-fro illegal activities emanating from Turkey.

Would this be the ultimate strategy to collapsing the occupation?

No .... the occupation is becoming legitimate because the EU itself is supporting it through their actions lol ...... I cannot fathom why the EU has not made it categorically clear to Turkey that unless she removes her occupation troops of 40,000 from Cyprus that there is bukleys of entering the EU.

So no the occupation will remain so ... until a brighter morning ;)

...until you understand that had TCs had 15.000 TC national guard and 130.000 TC reservists; the so-called occupation(read as defacto situation) of Cyprus would remain without the existence of Turkish troops... until one way or another a solution to Cyprus problem found...

Hallo Humanist

Do not despair. The EU is about finding new ways to deal with old enemy conflicts.

Who can complain if Frontex patrols for illegal activities, over the whole periphery of Cyprus, an EU member country, after all?

They can turn back or arrest illegally entering vessels. That would include reinforcements, supplies and so on, for the occupation army.

Cyprus will do its bit ...

Cyprus Guard continues to upgrade with Turkish threat

"We will continue with the same pace to upgrade the fighting capability and the operational readiness of our National Guard."

As long as Turkish troops remain in Cyprus, the National Guard will continue to upgrade, Cyprus Minister of Defence Costas Papacostas stressed Friday.

``As long as Turkish troops step on the sacred soil of our semi-occupied country, the National Guard will continue constantly to rearm itself so that it would meet the expectations of the Cypriot people and face whichever hostile actions on behalf of the enemy,`` Papacostas said in statements after a military parade to mark the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Republic Of Cyprus.

He added ``we will continue with the same pace to upgrade the fighting capability and the operational readiness of our National Guard.``
``We are in very good level but there is room for improvement,`` he went on to note.

Papacostas also praised the level of cooperation with the Greek National Defence Ministry, noting that the two Ministers have close cooperation and common concerns.

You have not won a single war against the Turks since the establishment of written history. What makes you think that you will win the next?

since the establishment of modern turkey there has been no war apart from cyprus where the odds were stacked in your favourite...gloat on this you chicken shit...

further more turkey sat on the sidelines during ww2, coz, yes you guessed it, too scared to fight...or as per usual waiting to see who the winner was...

and you have not won a war within turkey with your own citizens...so what?...

Precisely because you think we won't. Precisely because we have learnt a lot. Precisely because you sit on your laurels. Precisely because we have never had a war with "Turkey" but have sustained a series of unprovoked attacks, of your choice and timing, plunging us into a state of war, unprepared. None of your attacks have killed us; they only served to make us stronger, each time! Look at us now; we have over 60% of our country completely free of traitor-Turks. Just 40% to liberate. Siga, siga!

When we do eventually become the initiators to attack you, be certain it will be the end of Turkey as you know it. :D
