Who would win a war between Greece and Turkey?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Whoever's in defence

Probably true but a little iffy! Turks would probably win most of the battles but they would not be very decisive. I mean you probably would not have any winners after many years of fighting and bloodshed! It would be just another on going headache for whoever is occupying part of the other's land.

As for many islands - a stone throw from Turkey - I am not so sure about their fate...

That's not what I meant. Whoever's in defence will have a clean victory over the attacker. I wouldn't be so sure about the fate of those trying to land on the Greek islands. After so many airspace violations, the TAF has not yet managed to uncover the Greek airspace umbrella, so they have no idea what they're up against, and that's probably the best detterant.

At least everybody agrees on who the aggressor would be in such a scenario

I just cannot see an unprovoked aggressor in such a scenario! In any case it's just a scenario and something that will never happen in modern times anyway... :D

Definitely not! Afterall I am a Turkish Cypriot - notice the Turkish bit? That I gues puts some ties between me and Turks in Turkey - just like you and the GReeks in your motherland!

The other question is what is the ethnic relationship between you and the yanks? Why are you comparing scenarios with them? You lot are really sad!

All aggressors claim they are reacting to provocation, but what constitutes provocation in this case? Greece extending its territorial waters in the same way Turkey did?
