How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Long gone the days when Turkish economy and armed forces depended on USA!

You idiot! A flick of a switch would render all digital US military export equipment useless against the USAF as Pakistan recently found out!

That’s why clever countries never buy American equipment!

Oh yeah! Let's hear about the double standards from their official website:

Israel / Jewish Issues
Introduction | Press Releases | Legislation | Documents

Throughout my years in Congress, I have been a vocal supporter of a close relationship between the United States and Israel, which is our strong ally and the only real democracy in the Middle East. I have been proud to stand with my constituents to support Israel at rallies in my district, as well as on the floor of the House. Israel has withstood decades of attacks from its neighbors, and yet has managed to maintain a flourishing, free and open, multi-cultural society that is at the forefront of many technogical and medical breakthroughs.

I believe it is important to try to facilitate peace in the Middle East, working toward a two state solution that will result in a lasting peace, with secure borders for Israel. We should be using our diplomatic and development tools to encourage Palestinian leaders to recognize Israel as a Jewish State and end terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians.

Why don't they support two state solution for Cyprus too? Is it against the Hellenic interests?

Unfortunately for you it's gotten to the point where TCs don't matter anymore.

Who is the leader of the illegal settlers? Don’t be surprised to find Christofias negotiating with him soon instead of Eroglue!

That I am absolutely sure will happen in near future! But put your hand on your heart, drop your nationalistic feelings to one side and think very hard; who is really responsible for the current fate of TCs in Cyprus today?

GCs endless international pressure in refusing to recognise the TC existence! Stopping direct travel to TC side, stopping what little economic income they had from export of fruits to Europe, stopping exports of clothes/jeans manufacturers to Europe, threatening cargo ships and taking actions against many that dared to call at port of Famagusta.... and so it goes.

The end product of all this? A rotting TC existance who had no choice but move abroad - to be replaced by thousands of mainland Turks and investors who do not give a toss. Now the GCs will have no choice but to sit round a table with a settler (very soon). Something I warned about more than a year ago and almost two years prior to that...

We don’t have a problem with your right to exist… its HOW you’ve decided to exist that bothers us!

You went along with Turkey’s crimes and even assisted them, thinking that would solve your problems but how wrong you were…

At the time the TCs were not left with very much choice. Especially with the discovery of mass graves EOKA-B animals created and the general "Turk-hatred" as a direct result of GC deaths during the invasion!

Given the choice of being under the protection of Turkish military or sealing our fate with the GCs (under the circumstances) it was the expected and the right decision.

The degredation of TC status and the increasing number of mainland settlers did not even start until 26-27 years after 1974! Until then all the industrial machinery in North was successfully run by the TCs in the North and a lot of businesses exported goods to Europe. But Cypfruvex followed by few other big exporters collapsed due to embargoes. dozens of clothes manufacturing factories closed down, and many TC entrepreneurs went bust!

ALL BECAUSE THE GCs BELİEVED THEY WERE PUNİSHİNG TURKİYE???
In fact they punished the TC workers and forced them to do what they had been doing since the 1950s - sell and move out of the island to some foreign land!

U.S. Congress House of Representatives adopted a resolution on urgent protection and rescue of churches and historical places in the territories of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

This resolution calls on U.S. President, State Secretariat, the International Committee on Religious Freedom to assume urgent sanctions against Turkey, since religious freedom is deeply exploited in the Turkish Cyprus and historical sanctuaries are ruined.

The US congress may as well not have voted at all. They refer to the occupied Cyprus as Turkish Cyprus. There is no such thing given that there is only one Cyprus internationally recognised and accepted as EU member State. Once again the US congress decision means nothing unless they are willing to support it through action. The action am seeking is economic embargoes on Turkey .... but if they do that who is going to sell guns to Turks?

If only some TCs joined the Makarios guard to help quell the Greek coup… the TCs would’ve become the heroes of Cyprus today!

It’s amazing how one wrong split-second decision can mark the rest of your life…
