Electronic contact pads should be cleaned with an eraser not liquids.
You can also do that to your TV remote control when the buttons stop working. Give the pads a good rub, blow/wipe away the residue and it’s nice and shiny again making perfect contact!
One of these chubby, white, soft ones work best...
I thought that was an eraser but it turns out it's a delete button off a keyboard!
