Because they are too nationalistic
This are rather naive comments. Many ignorant of economics believe that
the reason the UK (England is just part of the UK by the way) have not adopted the euro is because it has not made economic sense to do so. It has nothing whatsoever to do with wanting to keep the £ sterling because it is British. Even Gordon Brown who has been a disaster is aware of this.
When the time is right economically the UK will adopt it, providing the euro
survives.
Rubbish!
The reason the UK did not adopt the Euro was because of some ancient, historical pride in the Queen and "sovereignty".
... and now it cannot through mismanagement!
This is incredibly naïve…
Sure, if you ask the British public what they wanted they would reject the Euro and keep the Pound for reasons of pride and resistance to change…
But then if you asked the British Public they’d bring back hanging, repeal the smoking ban and given a chance, leave the EU experiment.
The truth is that our elected leaders decide what is best for us now and if Brown/Blair had decided that the €uro was ‘best for us’ we’d be in…
Of course, by ‘best for us’ I actually mean best for them…
