Because they are too nationalistic ;)

This are rather naive comments. Many ignorant of economics believe that
the reason the UK (England is just part of the UK by the way) have not adopted the euro is because it has not made economic sense to do so. It has nothing whatsoever to do with wanting to keep the £ sterling because it is British. Even Gordon Brown who has been a disaster is aware of this.
When the time is right economically the UK will adopt it, providing the euro
survives.

Rubbish!

The reason the UK did not adopt the Euro was because of some ancient, historical pride in the Queen and "sovereignty".

... and now it cannot through mismanagement!

This is incredibly naïve…

Sure, if you ask the British public what they wanted they would reject the Euro and keep the Pound for reasons of pride and resistance to change…

But then if you asked the British Public they’d bring back hanging, repeal the smoking ban and given a chance, leave the EU experiment.

The truth is that our elected leaders decide what is best for us now and if Brown/Blair had decided that the €uro was ‘best for us’ we’d be in…

Of course, by ‘best for us’ I actually mean best for them…

The majority of British public is incapable of making a rational decision on any matter requiring deep thought and concentration , successive governments are fully aware of this ,a reason why they have -the government-been feeding us with so much garbage !!!
I have to agree with O that the British dislike of the Euro is not based on economics but on the fear of ....losing their sovereignty !!!!!!! I ask my self which sovereignty is that ? Arrive at any UK airport and you could easily be forgiven for thinking you are in some third world country !!!

Most of the British public are lazy benefit cheating mongs... they voted for 13 years of Labour FFS...

However, it is a dangerous precedent to decide that the politicians they elected know better than them... Before long you have (as you rightly pointed out) a country you don't recognise because the politicians decided that multiculturalism was a good thing - who voted for it...?

Then they decide what you can eat, drink and where you can smoke... before long 1984 looks more like an instruction manual than a warning...

The British need to wake up.

Stop going on about smoking , its a dirty unhealthy smelly addictive nasty habit and should have been banned from public places years ago. You want to smoke you are free to do so provided you do not force me to breath in your fumes.
How many do you smoke a day incidentally , 100 ????
Back to the British mentality now . Did you know that the number given officially for Muslims in the UK is ....1.5 million , that means for every Cypriot there are just ...5 Muslims , when you think it over is laughable !!

It looks as if the Euro is on truck to continue surging ahead .

Milti -until the time a central financial control of all EU countries be established (EU Finance ministry- controlling all countries monetary systems) do no trust Euro.No currency can survive for long if 27 different policies apply on it.

I think the solution is that they need to create a two-tier currency. Something like this…

The Euro-Deutschmark

The Euro-Franc

The Euro-Drachma

The Euro-Sterling

The Euro-Lira

…and so forth. By creating a local sub-currency within the mother currency they can have all the flexibility or rigidity whenever and wherever is required!

Here’s how it works by example. The sub-currency can be used for all INTERNAL affairs such as the corresponding member’s government payroll, pension funds and all other internal expenses, whereas the mother currency should be used when dealing with each other and all other EXTERNAL affairs.

This allows members to issue/print higher than normal amounts of money for internal usage when in dire straits (something that would’ve saved Greece without receiving handouts and loans) but retain a stable external currency as a union member.

Is anyone following me? :?
