How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Are you all complete morons?

At around 13:15...he clearly says "motherlands", but the other aspects of the transcription of this bit are correct

I've already been through this with one misguided forumer; so, if you can find the quote where he allegedlly used those words, be my guest because I have read the original transcript of the speech and they are nowhere to be found, manually or by search engine.

So go ahead, disher of "bitter truths", find the original quote instead of feeding the frenzied masses!

Yes he did.

Bottom of page 7 as already pointed out to you!

BTW, who is the misguided forumer?

Superfluous! He has been enlightened, now. 8)

Bad English.....

Postby cymart » Tue Oct 05, 2010 3:14 pm

When you don't know a language well enough,it is a fatal mistake to try to use it in public, especially at a prestigious forum like the Brookings Institute.
Unfortunately Christophias not only embarassed himself and the people he was addressing but also blew an opportunity to make a positive impression on some quite influential people who were listening!Cyprus has enough problems with a bad international image already about many things and this was the last thing it needed.......he has done this kind of thing before, such as reminiscing about the Soviet Union and his student days there in front of Medvedyev when he went on an official visit to Moscow and then being snubbed by Putin after having a two hour lunch with Communist leader Zhuganov!
It is almost comical if it wasn't so tragic that we have such calibre of people running this place!

Christophias has done nothing wrong. If anyone is worth listening to, it is those people who understand the whole speech, in context and with the right intellectual "ear".

So far, Obama et al seem impressed and that's good enough for me!

Obama's role is just to remove the Turks and sting them hard as the emerging Al-Qaeda side-kicks.

He accepts the solution is for ONE sovereignty as Christophias does too.

I didn't say the speech was "intellectual" ... I intimated that the listener had to apply some intellect towards the meaning of the speech as a whole. He set down the parameters, early on, but people were not listening to those. They made up their own vulgar errors of interpretation.
