No, not at all. They were like brothers. The first Turkish newspaper in Cyprus was a joint Armenian Turkish Cypriot venture.

You need to learna lot ÖS. Many of our Armenian friends and neighbours were murdered (by the TMT) and terrorised to leaving the KÖŞKLÜ ÇİFTLİK area of Nicosia in 1963 (21-27 December to be exact) I saw the bodies in front of the British High Commisioners Residence. One was the local baker. They were only removed during a lull in the fighting. God knows what happened to others especially to those living SURLAR ÜSTÜ near the TC leaders 'palace'; amongst who was a goldsmith who made wedding rings for my family for generations.

According to my Armenian friends including the author of a study on the Cypriot Armenians, relations between T/Cs and A/Cs were very good if not excellent.

Thanks for confirming what I already knew. Then why were they murdered and expelled. What was their crime. Can you please explain? I am curious.

My dear Deniz, a few murders does not constitute genocide (as the other CF user whose name I forget indicated) nor does it suggest that two whole entire communities hate each others gutts as you are trying so hard to make us believe. People got killed in all communities because of the violence of the 1960s / 70s. Endaksi manamou? Katalavenis?

The friendship, no doubt existed. I know that, but it is folly to deny that they were expelled by the fanatics. I posted this because you stated that it never occured. I give you an eye-witness account. It is not propaganda. But to see your men-folk killed, however few is enough terror to send you packing to safety. My family renewed their friendship when we came to the UK and met the Garabet family again in Muswell Hill.
