Have you heard?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Have you heard?

I thought I read somewhere that President Christofias has invited Turkey to a discussion on solving the Cyprus Problem and has offered to cancel some National Guard parade as a peace offering? Is that correct?

I think Christofias shows to be a Statesman, I admire his effort. Imagine what could happen if Gull did the same canceling their parade and attending a meeting forward to discuss how we're gonna resolve this stalemate where both people are suffering still. And start the process of BBF.

they can start by approaching the UK in their effort to solve the Cyprus problem they return the bases to the RoC.

to decide in a United Cyprus what the geographical of the States will be
removal of Turkish troops with a number leaving immediately

how the TC's will be defined in terms of governmental make up ie would settlers and their children will make up their citizenship and therefore entitlements to be in the parliament. Which in a sense will defend their whole struggle if they allow settlers and/ or their children to become part of the government
I guess this issue is between TC's and Turks

Right of return though as we know few will return to the occupied area but even still freedom and democracy says right to do as you please. I f ppl choose to accept compensation that should be so TC's living in a GC home should be rehoused in purpose built homes should a GC refugee wants to return hhhmmmm

lets hear it for the boys ;)

now that can happen before the end of the year lol

Gassman here is the article

On Friday an appeal was made from the rostrum of the regular session of UN General Assembly to the Turkish leadership to agree to a personal meeting to discuss the Cyprus settlement by the President of the Republic of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias.

"I repeat my call to meet, so I can share my vision for solving the Cyprus problem, which would serve the interests of Cypriots, Turkey and Greece, as well as peace and security in the region." he said.

Once again Christofias made a proposal to cancel the annual military maneuvers that the armed forces of each side hold every autumn.

The President reiterated his determination to continue the peace talks that began two years ago under UN auspices, and for Cyprus to do its best to turn itself, quote: "…into the common home of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, without foreign troops and settlers, where the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all people inhabiting the island are fully respected."
Cyprus has remained forcibly divided since 1974 when Turkey invaded the island and occupied the north of the country occupying nearly forty percent of the territory. Itar-Tass

Re affirms that President Christofias is a peace loving man with true Statesman ideology and genuine care for both GC's and TC's as a United Cypriot people ... the same can hardly be said about Eroglu and Gull
