The relaxing of the Border iin 2003 prompted the Greenline agreement and did not force the Recognition of the TRNC as Greek Cypriots Feared and Turkish Cypriots Hoped.

Therefore, it is now expected that the Opening of the Ports to both State on the Island of Cyprus will Remove the Isolation on both peoples; the international isolation of the Turkish Cypriot and the isolation between Turkey and the Greek Cypriot State.

This information comes from the highest office in Turkey.

Are we all in agreement here?

Give us the bill first to consider the case

Like what? Please don't churn out the old chestnuts like jobs, passports, health, etc., as these are all rights of TCs, not concessions by GCs.

As the opening of Turkey's ports and airspace to RoC traffic is a right under the treaties that Turkey has signed with the EU! So what is your point?

As was the direct trade and travel promised to TCs if they said yes to AP in 2004.

Where is anybody's signature on a deal that says that?

If this is true, how do the GCs propose to reciprocate, if at all?

they already told that; release the frozen chapters for Turkey at EU process.
So see, how Turkey got us TC's under thier disposal for using us as 'ace'.
Sad part, most of the GC's does not understand or see that.

turkey is looking after her own interests...now you realise it?...

anyway coming back to topic...whats the catch?...there has to be a catch...

And having access to the Turkish ports is the right of Cyprus based on agreements that Turkey signed.

What if I told you to revert back to your leader Mr Christofias as a good source of information regarding this! As, he is very much aware of what Turkey is now planning in terms of the opening of the Ports......Perhaps a hint would be to view why Mr Christofias is determined to speak directly with Turkey only; the very nation it regards as the "Occupiers of Northern Cyprus".

The Truth is, Mr Christofias knows that when Turkey opens its ports, soon, unconditionally, at an international level he [Mr Christofias] will be politically ruined; probably at home too!

If the Isolation of the Greek Cypriot State is removed by Turkey and it agrees to open its ports to Greek Cypriot traffic, one of either of the two is thought to materialise:

1) The Greek Cypriots will refuse Turkey's offer, landing them [The Greek Cypriots that is] in deep political turmoil due to the political needs of the European Union; like their constant badgering of Turkey to open its ports first, energy deals and requirements with Turkey concerning the EU-Middle Eastern and Turkic "project". Thus, the stage will be set, again if the Greek Cypriots should refuse this offer, for the removal of the isolation of the TRNC by the EU and then possible recognition due to the exposure of the ill intentions of the Greek Cypriots.

2) The Greek Cypriot will accept the offer and Two Cypriot States as staged under the former "Annan Plan" leading to an ultimate Confederal agreement.

You see my fellow compatriots, the ball is truly in Turkey's court which is why, when some thought is applied to the Isolation Removal issue, Turkey will definitely be soon removing its objections to "Greek Cypriot" traffic. I just hope that Christofias has prepared for the storm that awaits him!

??? What kind of rubbish is this?

Turkey is OBLIGED to open her ports so don’t assume that she would be doing Cyprus any favors, other than make a cheap attempt to recommence her stagnant EU accession path but it’ll be too little too late as you may find out.

Anyway, this baseless thread should also be locked and tossed among the rest of the MrH’s unsubstantiated rubbish.

This is why I love you so much Get Real my Cypriot Compatriot, you are so red-blooded!

Cool down and have a coke and a smile.

Turkey is ONLY so-called "Obliged" to open its port under the FRAMEWORK of It's EU Membership bid - nothing else, and as if it will soon be a part of any way, and not that it really wants to anymore! Where, and this is the bottom line here Get Real, a Comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem is a 40 year old UN matter and not really, truly, one concerning the EU at this early age of human history.

You need to get your facts right my son.
