So what you are saying is that if both sides would have said yes the EU would never have allowed us to adopt the AP? Did you tell the UN? for gods sake it was a UN engineered and backed plan.

if both sides have said yes the new state would need to be be approved by each EU national parliment(for ascesion into the EU),and the UN security council and the three guranterors(PARLIMENTS).

Do you in your right mind think they would have rejected it? knowing that the people on this island said YES. In that case why the hell are we saying a solution for Cypriots by Cypriots when the rest of the world has the last say?

vp at the end of the day the AP IS JUST THAT Annan's plan.it was not approved by anybody but the t/c.now if the two sides use it as a basis for negotiations thats their business.without UN secuity council approval i dont even believe it is technically a UN plan.

Quite, a settlement for CY by CYs under the auspices of the UN and within EU principles........ should be pretty straightforward then.

Maybe ,Maybe not but if Plan is approved by both communites than that would be great.AT the end of the day though i believe The T/C as a community really need to take hold of these talks and try to find a comprimise with the g/c which will be a functional, federal modern democracy in the EU,UN and the world as a whole.
