How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Bill the dates you have may not be accurate because on the 8 th of August the Turks were in no position militarily to demand 34 percent of Cyprus, On the 8 th of August the Turkish advance was barily out of the 5 mile or 6 mile corridor and the corridor of Koneli.....And I was also under the impression that Clerides rejected the 'turkish demands at Geneva II hence the second major invasion in
august 14th in Famagusta.

Can only give the dates as they appear mate. Perhaps others will be able to find info from other sources. As to the military matters you raise, you have the advantage of first hand experience. My understanding at the time and from a very looooooong way away was that the talks gave the TA the chance to reinforce positions to advantage.

This link may give you a better idea of the timeframe and where the ta was on August 8th......

All that historical info about Karavas and what happened to it in 1974 then, tacked on the end, that it is the ancestral village of George Michael?

Hardly of historical importance - and no claim to fame considering that he is 'living in a bigger house' right now.

The article is incorrect, the ancestral home of George Michael is Patriki.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriki

Oh dear, this discredits all the information on WikiPedia and can no longer be a credible source. :(

I've been severely scolded on here for quoting Wiki!

Never mind, anyone can go in and change the info on there!

Thanks for the info about Geo. Michael (not that he interests me). Interesting to see his picture is on the cover of the book 'Cyprus Who's Who'.

They should paint some bars in front of his face for any reprint!
