It shows that Cypriots are prone to disobeying and breaking the law. Employers do it constantly exploiting their workers with total disregard. We have progressed in many ways but beneath it all we are still riding bloody donkeys .
Smoking is banned in public places , that is the law .The stupid sods who flout the law ought to be severely dealt with , we are not some banana republic and we must behave within the law.
Dirt filthy tobacco fumes must not be permitted to poison public places.
You want to smoke , do so but dont expect me to breath in your filthy fumes you third world addicts !!!

It is amazing how anti-smoking zealots will wave their hands in front of their faces at the very sight of a smoker while standing next to a highway with trucks roaring past belching diesel fumes!

Mate , I have members of my family who smoke ! They visit me but I insist that first I have to...fumigate them then they must wear a mask so I dont get a whiff of their bad breath !!!!

It seems the on going problem is the general disrespect for the law & police.My pet hate is people driving holding their phones in front of them on speakerphone. You losers your using your hands ! It's not hands free ! You got a bank loan for that ugly BMW but you can't figure out the bluetooth kit savages i say just SAVAGES !

What do you think of women driving along with a car full of children... obviously distracting her when little Chlamydia in the back seat spits her dummy out and Mummy has to retrieve it...?

It isn't surprising that there is disrespect for the law when blanket legislation like thou shalt not smoke or thou shalt not use your mobile is introduced.

I remember when police would stop people driving badly... not people that were driving perfectly well but 1Kph over the speed limit or because they happened to be on the phone...

I cannot understand why anyone living in Cyprus is upset by the new 'smoking restrictions'. I smoke and haven't found hardly anywhere you cannot still smoke (inside or out). In fact the owner of one of the bigger tavernas down at Makenzy told me that the police told him 'as long as you keep the door open, it is OK if they smoke inside'!

Yes indeed. An Iraqi neighbour has at last found a job (cheese and dairy factory in Limassol). He takes home 600 euro a month for working 6 days a week from 7am to 5.30. The Indian workers only get 400 euros a month for the same job and the Indian WOMEN workers only 350.

There is no aircon, they are not allowed to take water in with them, nor drink anything until they are on their 45min break. Only non EU immigrant workers.

I think they are all distractions for sure Grump, children should have child seats and be strapped in. Telephones are also distractions they use your hands so your driving is impaired. What about smoking i hear you say ? Well you don't press buttons and look at a screen with a cigarette. Are you really so naive to not realize all those little pile ups every morning are caused by using telephones ? STICK TO THE SPEED LIMIT, DON'T PARK ON PAVEMENTS, CROSSINGS,CORNERS OR DOUBLE YELLOW LINES & USE HANDS FREE. Personally i hate smoking i find it a sign of weakness. It still calls me daily i know just how strong the legalized & taxed drugs are !
