You do not need to read betwixt the lines I wrote Boomers. What I am saying I hope they investigate the northern territories too.

I think I have addressed the issues you mention by criticising non-stop. I am surprised that you cannot find it in yourself to criticise or find something to criticise in the RoC. Unless the RoC is some Nuevo Utopia

A DELEGATION from the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) visited Cyprus from September 13-17 as the first step for the preparation of a monitoring report.
During its visit, ECRI´s delegation gathered information on the implementation of the recommendations it made to the authorities in its 2006 report and discussed new issues that have emerged since.
The delegation held meetings in Nicosia and Limassol with representatives of all relevant ministries, public officials, human rights NGOs and minority groups.
Following this visit, ECRI will adopt a report in which it will make a fresh set of recommendations on measures to be taken by the authorities to address racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance in the country. Among these, three will be revisited in two years’ time as part of an interim follow-up procedure.
In its 2006 report, ECRI found that the lack of a comprehensive immigration and integration policy made migrants, especially domestic workers, particularly vulnerable to human rights violations, exploitation and discrimination. Asylum seekers were also found to experience serious difficulties in exercising their rights and ECRI was concerned by the extensive use of detention in immigration and asylum procedures.
In the same report, ECRI expressed unease about the conduct of law enforcement officials and allegations of ill treatment. Manifestations of prejudice and discrimination affecting the Turkish Cypriot community, including persons of Roma origin, still needed to be addressed and ECRI highlighted the need for education to reflect the needs of an increasingly culturally and ethnically diverse society.
ECRI is a human rights body of the Council of Europe, composed of independent experts, which monitors problems of racism and intolerance, prepares reports and issues recommendations to member states.

So, where are the results relative to other countries?

Perhaps some clever forumer who are better at researching these can find these elusive reports. They may also find why Cyprus is being investigated.

Results, Deniz! Where are the results? .... before spreading malicious rumours that things are any worse in Cyprus than elsewhere!

P.S. ... give some thought to what comes next should the Cypriots be found to harbour a little more resentment to outsiders.

Clue: Look to those who impose Apartheid and on a daily basis remind the Cypriots they are "scum who are not allowed their own ancestral homes".

They are scum, that do NOT allow people to their own homes.

I hope the RoC has revoked the notion of any TC wishing to live in his/her own home in the RoC, that they should have been resident there for five years. That was repealed, Yes?

I think you need to read the specifics of residency rules in context and which apply to all, instead of rapidly casting aspersions.

So, where are the results of this meeting which have caused you to jump the gun and fire-up everyone with anti-Cypriot comments?

I am waiting for the Cyprus Mail to publish these. If they do so, you will be duly notified.

I know you are full of mistrust towards the CM, but no one else publishes in English.
