Hi Humanist. I did not post this article to criticise any one in particular. If the EU or UN or any other powerful body can implement the same for ALL the island, that is good isnt it?

Good morning Humanist. :?

That is political IMO. The RoC is the nominal gov of the whole of the island in there eyes. One day these regs will encapsulate the whole island - Inshallah.

J. Seen the whole wind farms in Hern Bay. Cervantes should have been alive.

I copied and pasted the article stating that the whole island can benefit from this.

You should ask the question why are these investigations being made? They must have smelt a rat somewhere. :?

if you thought for a moment the visit was for anything humanitarian, you are fooling yourself...

the eu has become bloaded with freeloaders...they only came to cyprus for a free all inclusive, fully paid holiday...why i say this?...why aren't they doing anything with the roma people?... ...or you think this is the biggest miscarriage of justice within the eu?...

You are right about France and the Roma people. There are a lot of freebooters about too.

However I have stopped solely criticising the GC's as I ought to put my own house in order - so to speak. There is so much to criticise isnt there?

Personally I dont give a cent what others(nations) do. I am only concerned with Cyprus. Perhaps I am a selfish b'stard. Then I am concerned about racism everywhere, but there is little I can do about France. You should join a French forum and air your views and give them my regards too.

You do not need to read betwixt the lines I wrote Boomers. What I am saying I hope they investigate the northern territories too.

All foreigners experiencing racism in any country of the world should return to their native countries. Case closed.

A DELEGATION from the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) visited Cyprus from September 13-17 as the first step for the preparation of a monitoring report.
During its visit, ECRI´s delegation gathered information on the implementation of the recommendations it made to the authorities in its 2006 report and discussed new issues that have emerged since.
The delegation held meetings in Nicosia and Limassol with representatives of all relevant ministries, public officials, human rights NGOs and minority groups.
Following this visit, ECRI will adopt a report in which it will make a fresh set of recommendations on measures to be taken by the authorities to address racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance in the country. Among these, three will be revisited in two years’ time as part of an interim follow-up procedure.
In its 2006 report, ECRI found that the lack of a comprehensive immigration and integration policy made migrants, especially domestic workers, particularly vulnerable to human rights violations, exploitation and discrimination. Asylum seekers were also found to experience serious difficulties in exercising their rights and ECRI was concerned by the extensive use of detention in immigration and asylum procedures.
In the same report, ECRI expressed unease about the conduct of law enforcement officials and allegations of ill treatment. Manifestations of prejudice and discrimination affecting the Turkish Cypriot community, including persons of Roma origin, still needed to be addressed and ECRI highlighted the need for education to reflect the needs of an increasingly culturally and ethnically diverse society.
ECRI is a human rights body of the Council of Europe, composed of independent experts, which monitors problems of racism and intolerance, prepares reports and issues recommendations to member states.

So, where are the results relative to other countries?

no doubt there all a lot to critisize in every country, but to have morons come to your country and start critising, with out looking at greater injustices elsewhere and keeping quite, is very hypocritical to say the least...it only confirms what i said earlier about freeloading...this is the point i was making, you cannot take this report seriously...everything they say must be taken with a grain of salt...

of cource there are prejudices in cyprus...you be a fool to deny it, like in every country...but i think prejudice in cyprus can be put down to division...also you think the da vinci on graffiti mountain, helps fueling these prejudices?...of cource it does...but as the tcs yearn for want peace, they surely have a funny way of showing show it...
but you will not see these morons even attempting to go there?...why is that...could it be they walked around blindfolded, or can we put it down to good old fasion stupidity and incompetence...

needless to say gasfart will come with a wild constipated donkey story, but thats another story...
