Agreed!

I reckon we've all got a limited number of heartbeats available. You don't want to waste a load of them running around in circles!

Absolutely, including the number of times our joints will work before they need replacement!

Think of the wasteful wear and tear marathon runners endure!

An "old" friend at the ripe age of 60 will be running another marathon in couple of week on 10-10-10 in Healdsburg, USA - The Wine Country Marathon! She is top of her age group. 20 years ago she could hardly walk with a ruptured disk in her back. After a successful operation, she started running and eventually entering many marathons, and still going strong...Best wishes to her on Oct. 10th.! :D

The intense physical stress of running for extended durations exacerbates heart disease, genetic heart defects, and heat strokes. Also, the longevity of the functionality of arm and leg joints is severely reduced from all the premature wear & tear. Overall… Marathon running and idiocy go hand in hand!

Marathon runners are bound to die or get ill a lot sooner than they normally would have but of course there’s no such thing as a life-o-meter for them to check other than common sense which they obviously lack.

Cool! :D

Can you carry my Gucci handbag, Jimmy Choo stilettos and some loukoumia refreshments for me in your wheels, and kerb-crawl beside me? 8)

Don't you think a Cyprus donkey is enough to carry along your bling for you?

Pity, you gave up cycling!!

Deniz, I haven't given up cycling. I'm just waiting for the Turkish troops to leave so that I can circumnavigate my whole island.

He was also a member of Mensa. Perhaps he was thinking particularly hard over a difficult puzzle. :D
