There is no peace whilst there is a threat.
The world is full of threats, it's our choice whether we allow them to kill our free will and aggressively turn on each other.
so in peace`s name we should be cowards , we should say from now on we need no trouble so we will leave matters as it is !! well it doesnt work that way im afraid you cant ignore unsolved problems cause as long you will live it will always be unsolved and till the problem is need solved there will be no peace !!
and realistically peace is an ideal world and idealism and realism arent the same thing
I only have two words to answer whether peace is idealistic - European Union. After 64 million people died in world war two, it finally knocked some sense into European leaders and they started the EU to make sure such wanton destruction never happened again.
So it's not idealistic to expect peace, it's realistic and more importantly - crucial for our survival.
I'm not ignoring the problems, I'm pointing out that we think in a very polarised way - US and THEM, and this is a limited way to seeing the world. Fresh ideas, new approaches, that's what we need to move ahead and look forward.
