What about those that already have? I know 3 TCs who have returned in the past year to the properties they were born in in Larnaca old town here.

I've been in Cyprus long enough to know that GCs are NOT united in what they would like to see happen. One solution would benefit some and not others, lots of GCs I talk to actually RESENT the refugees and their refugee status and the handing down of it to their descendants. Most who did live in the North (you'd be forgiven for thinking sometimes that ALL GCs lived there - reading the rubbish on here) say they don't want to go back and live there whatever 'solution' comes about.

A poll I read recently taken by former inhabitants of Varosha showed that the vast majority of those who DID want their property back only wanted it for 'holiday home', not to go and live in.

EVERYTHING I see, hear and experience in my day to day life on this island is diametrically opposed to the hatred and fantasies spouted on here. Most of the 'charlies' who come over just roll their eyes and say it's like going back a hundred years - especially in the villages. And that all this rubbish just DOESN'T HAPPEN in Norf Lundun!

Neither you or the poll has the right to speak on behalf of ALL Varoshiotes, because whilst I believe that most won't return in the short term due to lack of infrastructure which needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, most Varoshiotes I know WILL return! And so will many other non Varoshiotes!
