It's theft when the property is "sold" to a person who is not a genuine refugee. The original TC resident of my place in Bogazi was a TC refugee; I had no problem with that although I was never offered his place in the ROC as a swap. A few years ago it was "sold" to a UK based TC for £150,000 who now uses it as a holiday home.

I have never had a problem with Cypriots using each others property pending a settlement but you know very well that the wicked Turkish practice of "selling" GC land to carpetbaggers only serves to cement the division between the two communities and makes an equitable solution almost impossible (recent ECHR ruling).

The “trnc” has established an industry based on the illegal use of GC property, this is not the case in the ROC.
