This is the first settlement of this period excavated in the southwestern part of Cyprus and the only known place on the seaside, unlike most settlements of the Early-Middle Bronze Age located in the hinterland.

We found a large pile of ash pits in various stages, some of which contained fragments of pottery at the base. During the late-phase manufactured more clay a large building that resembles an oven, probably similar to traditional Cypriot ovens.

In the layer of ash found at the base of the building revealed a partial collapse of a large storage vessel, which was placed upright in a pit with a cooking pot at its base. This structure is unique to the Early-Middle Bronze Age in Cyprus,. The team of University of Manchester hopes that the next excavation season will reveal the earliest stages which are kept below the subsequent years.
