The Cyprus Mail’s corrupt discriminatory practices...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Paphitis » Sun Sep 12, 2010 12:33 pm

Unfortunately it is true.

I can also guarantee people that most GCs who challenge their political agendas have their comments censored, butchered or deleted altogether.

Sadly, I am a victim. They just don't like me, and others, expressing our point of view because it does not serve their purpose. The remarks are not offensive, but they are challenging and straight from left of field in an eccentric kind of way, and also quite funny!

So sad.........

Freedom of Speech is the victim here! :(

Idiot!

More to the point, where do you think the majority of ex-pat Cypriots spend/invest their UK earned cash when they retire or holiday. At a guess more than half of my older UK Cypriot relatives have bought property in Cyprus with the money they earned in UK and their kids use them for holidays. In the old days it was with cash they had not declared to the UK taxman. My uncle used to say of those who built in the north "they stole the cash to build their houses and now the Turks have stolen it from them".

Exactly nincompoop! Money that wasn't taxed in Cyprus has been used to buy out Cypriot real estate from Cypriot hands!

It doesn't get any more catastrophic than that for any country!

With regard to the first quote, there's not much point in trying to explain it to you, you're to thick to take it in.

Can't you get your head round the fact that investment into the island by British based/born Cypriots has been of enormous benefit to Cyprus and that cash would not have been available to them had they remained in Cyprus instead of "exploiting" the opportunity the UK offered.

Name calling and posting Emoticons is the response of someone who knows he has lost the argument, I can't be bothered with you GR but I reserve the right to take the piss out of you as and when I have the time.

In case somebody missed it… Jerry-nomics basically dictates that:

If we give $100 to a wealthy person it’ll have a lesser value than if we give that same amount to a poor person!

Of course, what is really happening is that the wealthy person won’t be as excited (emotion) as the poorer person, but this has no effect on the purchasing power of a $100 bill regardless of whose hands it is in!

Get the book now… Jerry-nomics!

Out now for a limited time period for just $99.99! 8)

NB: In the EU it circulates as Dafto-nomics!

Nincompoop, if you don’t understand what a comparison is don’t open your mouth.
It would be a valid comparison if the elderly brits were nothing but a drain on Cyp resources, but hey!!, Guess what??, THEY CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMY, HAVE PAID THEIR NHS STAMP ALL THEIR LIVES THUS ARE ENTITLED, TO THAT HEALTHCARE (EU MEMBERSHIPS WONDERFUL AINT IT??), what part of that don't you understand wankstain??

Once again your ability to understand plain English must be questioned or are you really that thick.
The spending power of ex pats in Cyprus is proportionately a much higher share of consumer consumption than that of Cypriots in the UK because the latter are a much smaller percentage of the total population of the UK, get it now oh great economist!

In other words…

What 70,000 British pensioners spend in Cyprus appears (on paper) as a higher percentage of the Cyprus budget than what the 250,000 Greek Cypriot figure does against the UK budget!

Well no shit Einstein!
