Even then, who cares, they were 3rd in the world, when was the last time Greece got close?
Galatasaray aren't Turkey are they?
Who cares about 3rd place, Greece have
won a major trophy. Offer any European football nation either European champions or a semi-final place at the World Cup and they would pick the European title every time. It's a much bigger achievement than reaching a semi-final at a tournament where many weaker nations play, and if you knew anything about football you would know this.
The third place play-off itself is nothing but a meaningless game.
Who cares?
Thats pretty much all you can list.
And no I would always pick the World Cup, because you get to play a lot of nations, some who actually won the world cup several times, while 95% of Europe has not.
And Galatasaray is Turkey, what else would it be? Japan?
Galatasaray isn't Turkey, but a football club based in Turkey, big difference I think.
It's like me calling Arsenal 'England', and they coincidentally barely have an English player in their team most of the time. Local football clubs do not represent national teams, once again you're highlighting your ignorance.
Further, what I posted above wasn't a list, but a correction to your inaccuracy. Who cares? Well you're the one posting errors, so you obviously do, or else why are you responding? So you would pick third in a World Cup rather than being a champion and coming first in Europe, which is easily football's strongest continent, and where most of the World Cup winners come from anyway? That's fine, I'm sure 99% of knowledgeable football followers would disagree. You talk about 95% of Europe not having won the World Cup, but outside of Europe, only South American nations have won the trophy, and Europe leads in overall wins. It is also a well known fact that in a World Cup there are many more weaker teams from third world nations in comparison to the overall strength of the Euros. And of course, you can't even compare reaching a semi-final with actually winning a tournament, it's quite obvious which is a far bigger deal! Like I said, highlights your level of knowledge regarding football.
If that unlucky loser mentality is prevalent in Turkey it probably explains why Turkey has not even qualified for a tournament for so long!
Listen to what a top footballer who has played in both tournaments had to say:
