Greek olives taste almost as bad as open-buffet breakfast olives in cheap hotels.

All the ethnic garbage to a side, I have not been impressed with anything I ate in none of the islands, RoC, Athens and Alexandroupolis.

I am yet to experience this ancient amazing Greek cuisine. Its like this myth everyone talks about but no one has ever seen.

As an Asian, your taste-buds are all squiffy! :D

Plain rice for you ... or is that Pilafi?

Turkey does produce nice olives, but I am biased towards Cypriot ones. They might not be fleshy but they taste good.

I also prefer any village hellim/halloumi to the factory made 'polymerous squeeky sponge'. Turkish Food Markets sell open halloumi produced in Cyprus by Stephanos. I like that the best.

You know, some of those olive trees in "Turkey" have been there longer than Turks! Who planted them?

Come to think of it; a lot of the olive trees in Cyprus have been around longer than you Turks have! Including my favourite "Poly-gamous" in Polis!

I suspect that this “Hellim” is a by-product of Halloumi!

What they do is… they buy Greek Cypriot Halloumi, melt it down, add a few human and goat hairs and repackage it!

Any takers? Image

I did point out the olive trees in Turkey 15 min ago. I asked Shah to think who might have planted them.

How was last nights meditation?

"Greek olives taste almost as bad as open-buffet breakfast olives in cheap hotels."

I have been in Greece 35 years and have not managed to taste more than a few dozne of the 800 or so varieties of olives. How long were you here and managed to taste all of them?

Don't worry Nikitas. He has jut learnt that as an Asian, his taste buds are not suited to olives!

He should stick to sucking tasteless lychees! :D

Do you know why you call it Pilafi?

Similar to the Indians, maybe you "created" the Indians too?

Did you lay the foundation for the Eastern civilization as well? :lol

Yeah maybe they were hiding somewhere, and I didn't get to find the real "underground" olive scene that has been kicking off over there and was stuck with the mainstream stuff.
