Warren Buffett observed that the world airline industry has not made a dime for investors in a century of manned flight.

Airlines are simply not viable without government support, even if it is difficult for the uninitiated to identify the implicit government subsidy in historic and current airline operations.

If the tickets were free then no problem  but since I'm paying twice, once with my annual taxes and twice with my pricey airline ticket, the minimum standard of respect for capital would be nice.

otherwise rock on CA they only real carrier for Cyprus. BA, is shite, too expensive and is 2nd class.

The lowcost airlines, well, no comment, you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't fly any other carrier but CA. May they live long and prosper!

Bad management is my analysis - the free flights for staff must be a drop in the ocean. From what employees of the company tell me, management is an absolute nightmare - that costs.

Now then GR and O, are you trying to tell us that Cyprus Airways does not consist of an overstaffed, overpaid, politically appointed workforce? Most of these buggers do FA, and that included the rat that left the sinking ship, Lazarides!

I don't know what the situation is now, but I know that 10 years ago the CA pilots were paid more than BA Concorde pilots!

Very bloody happy, while they still have a job! The Government can't go on finding ways to subsidise the lazy bastards for ever, our EU cousins will start to get upset (if they don't this time).

It's about time experts were brought in to do some serious thinking. Every time the government changes the operating weaknesses get shunted aside, but it's in times of crisis that the weaknesses can kill a company :(

Very happy until the company disintegrates from under them, because the RoC Government is not able to subsidise these leeches forever! It is anti competitive and against EU Law!

The Airline needs to be completely overhauled and restructured! End of!

Privatisation is the only way forward!
