If it could all be put down to the financial crisis I could be more understanding, but this has been going on for years! I can't even remember the last time CA made a profit.
Taxpayers, we are getting ripped off.
Your memory is very poor then since it wasn't that long ago:
"CYPRUS Airways (CY) made a profit for the second successive year in 2008, despite a huge increase in fuel costs and the added financial burden caused by a "tired out" fleet of aircraft, Executive Chairman Kikis Lazarides said yesterday."

And, before I embark on something as unfair and one-sided as you, I believe all the airlines which suffered from the Icelandic Volcanic ashes were afflicted with huge costs. Although, for example, BA's longstanding problems are world-renowned.
Perhaps it's your appreciation of retaining nationalised industries which is at fault. Maybe you are a daughter of "sell everything off Thatcher"!
What a brilliant example of being paranoid about being Cypriot. I didn't comment on this because they're Cypriot, but because they lost a lot of money - 25 million in 6 months. If they made a profit in 2008, trust me it was an aberration.
BA is also pretty inefficient, I don't think anyone would deny that, especially the pilots - who I heard complain over the loudspeaker during a flight about BA.
Why?
