Released. False arrest writ being issued tomorrow.
"He's been released with no further action to be taken (against him)," a Metropolitan police spokesman said.
The 69-year-old businessman, who once ran the Polly Peck empire, was arrested at his house in the exclusive Mayfair district of central London. Police would not say whether a mistake had been made, but Nadir said officers had apologised.
"Well, unfortunately I've been a victim of an unlawful arrest today claiming that I had broken my bail conditions: That was not the case," he told waiting reporters as he left custody.
"I'm hoping that this sort of unlawful behaviour, as I've claimed for many years, should not take place in this country."
