That simply strengthens my argument

Your argument makes total sense, Alexios. But at the same time it is not enough to adress the reality that Piratis points out and that unfortunately it cannot be ignored.

The past can only be buried on actıons that prove that neither sıde is out to dominate the other. The turst can only be built by showing that each community has the best interests of the other community and are not out to dominate and control the other. We have to prove we are better now than the past and that mentalities have changed enough that will allow all Cypriots to be tollerant and understanding of each other. This unfortunately is not being displayed by either side so what we feel that nothing has changed and that a solution is further away today that it has ever been.

Actually, you need to do some research my friend. The population of Cyprus has always been mixed - although G/C have not been so racist as they are in our times -- especially during the Roman period, Jews used to be large percentage of the population if not the majority - The Romans expelled them byu force during Diaspora-

I'm sure there were other periods that G/C lived with other nationalities in cyprs. Do your own research and you might be surprised instead of dpending on the nationalist propaganda the G/C society has been feeding you.

Regardless, even if the G/C have always been the majority in cyprus this does not make the T/C or any other minority less Cypriot or give the G/C the right to discriminate towards T/C. T/C are Cypriots like you and me and I have no problem living with them. Unfortunately the G/C society is so racist and prejudiced towards the Turks and T/C thanks to Makarios, Papadopoulos and the rest of the racists who managed to divide us.

I find your statement lacking any meaning except from encouraging G/C nationalism.

I thought I'd like to say that before the invasion of Cyprus during the times of my grandfathers, they always remembered the Turkish Cypriots claim that Cyprus belonged to Turkey.. I mean Cyprus once belonged to the Persian Empire, the Assyrian empire but these were just rulers as oppose to settling people. The greatest foreign settlers Cyprus had been when she fell to the Ottoman empire. However flocks of Greek people always settled in Cyprus from different time periods and it is shown by the history and people.

I am surprised how neatly you administrated blame to only Makarios and Papadopoullos, forgetting some other much more prominent and murderous chauvinists such as Grivas and Sampson.
