EROGLU’S PEACE DAY MESSAGE

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Your existence (if you are Cypriot) is respected since RoC passports are available and taken up by most Turkish Cypriots. Will you be honest about why you do not have an RoC passport with all the benefits it entails?
Maybe your brothers are not as easily dissuaded as you appear to have been or they refuse (secretly) to live under fascism.

"Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash has forbidden Turkish Cypriots from applying for Cypriot passports and has been quoted in the north calling on Turkish Cypriots who had Cyprus passports to give them up, warning they would end up "at a loss" if they did not." [Cyprus Mail]

Lola, Eroğlu and everyone else is free to do whatever they wish, his daughters probably wish to study abroad for cheap, good luck to them.

The RoC passport will not bring me any advantages for the moment as I have figured out a way to get by without it anyways, so I am in no rush to get one, and I do not believe they respect my existence what so ever.

Are you talking about you personally? Most other Turkish Cypriots feel respected enough to have one and use its benefits {Eroglu's family}.

I think they only respect you if you are under their hegemony, in my eyes, they dish out those passports as a ticket off the island for most. They have always "encouraged" us to leave, its not new.

Is this why Greek Cypriots are offered these passports?

Hoping to build their long sought ethnocracy, you are only Cypriot if you have blood connection(from the father) and you can only be in the government if you are a GC, that's what fascism is!

I have never heard this before. Are you sure such a practice exists?

As to whatever you say Denktaş says, it is irrelevant. He has no power over the people, no one does regarding these issues, anyone is welcome to cross over and take the passport if they want to and no one can do anything about it, so it is puzzling that someone with his knowledge, would talk such crap.

We are back to a group effort to work out how prevalent a "TRNC passport" is compared to either an RoC passport or the other TC favourites, British or Turkish.

"He [Asil Nadir] must report each week to Chelsea police station, and has already surrendered his Turkish and British passports." [From today's Guardian.]

Not personally, as a people, how many TC's do you know?

The practice does not exist now, it did when we were together, if you remember, we were kicked out of the government. Why kick out TC's from the government?

Asil Nadir's handing over the passport is probably for his trial, so he does not leave the country again, not because he has given up his citizenship, it is irrelevant.

he died of cancer

I guess that's a good thing, he left without facing trial, leaving the family of his victims without any justice...

He does not have Cypriot citizenship. He has only a British and a Turkish Passport. Relevant to you is the fact he does not have a "TRNC passport".

" has already surrendered his Turkish and British passports "

It seems, those who are threatened by Denkash's (above) message to give up RoC passports do not get "TRNC passports" but Turkish passports. You have already declared that you also use a temporary (?) Turkish passport when you need recognition.

I think we have established that such a thing as a "TRNC passport" does not exist.

Depends where you go, is what I said, which is how it works.

Why bother argue this, with a person who actually holds a TRNC passport? I am assuming you are GC?

You cannot possibly "establish" that something which is physically out there and functioning "does not exist", by simply arguing with me on a forum, it is ridiculous

And how do you know what passports Asil holds?

He is under house arrest, with a dog tag anyways, he needs a lot more than a passport.

What "Nationality" does this "TRNC passport" assign to you?

And how do you know what passports Asil holds?

Since he had to surrender his passports we know he had a British one and a Turkish one. Are you saying he also has a "TRNC" one which he has not surrendered? Why is that?

Sha , what exists is the northern part of Cyprus with some 70,000 or so Turkish Cypriots and more than 150,000 settlers under the direct control of the Turkish army. No one is denying the existence of the citizens living in the occupied parts of Cyprus WHAT IS DENIED IS THE PROMOTION OF THE DIVISION OF THE ISLAND OF CYPRUS.
The fact that not one single nation has recognized the "trnc" means that it does not exist as a bona fide nation with all the trappings that a recognized nation has at its disposal , passports , currency etc etc.

Now hold on there Milti.

I am waiting for Lola to come up something more original than "TRNC does not exist"

So that I can say "yes it does, I live there"
