"Turkish Cypriots" DO NOT have a right to self determination if that's what you were thinking...

Blah blah!

We can claim self determination only if we have the power to fight our own war, that's what that junk article means. Obviously you are not going to just give it to us, we all know that.

What a pity that you cant wage war for it anymore though..

Self-determination for the Varoshiotes Now!

Have the Varo-shiites started a new sect in Muslim religion? Have not heard of them before but whoever they are, once we get our self determination we shall grant them theirs. That’s the kind of people we are. And we don’t even mind when they nick our lands, the thieving hypocrites. We will learn them a few things on how to live like, you know what I mean?

Looks like YFred is back.!!

Welcome back Freddie, you can take off the CY's vraga now.

Famagusta ain't gonna be returned in a year not even in three years lol. However the RoC responded appropriately on the pending decision for direct trade saying that there will be no solution as Turkey had hoped by the end of the years because if EU comes back and supports direct trade with the occupation regime will take at least two years to implement.

The RoC also made a valid point that the RoC is the recognised EU member State and any decision to grant direct trade with the occupation regime will be going over the recognised State. Makes mockery of the whole membership thing.

The EU told Cyprus it couldn't join the EU before it solved the CyProb. They didn't but were still allowed to join.
Makes mockery of the whole membership thing.

Just shows how little you understand of politics and Cyprus. Go back and check the timelines.

This is the order it happened in.

1) EU: Cyprus needs to solve the problem first before it joins.
2) Cyprus : S300 missiles are based in Crete
3) EU Enlargment commissioner: Cyprus cannot remain a hostage of Turkey's occupation.

Simple.

EU enlargement commissioner, has also taken no action to resolve the occupation of Cyprus by Turkey, furthermore, the fact they are considering extending the trade alliance with the TC community which occupies 1/3 of the Island denying thousands the human rights is also another example of EU enlargement commissioners failings.

Not worth the paper these agreements are written on DT .....

Viewpoint,

Well summed up. The time is running, why? Because the International Cummunity is getting seriuously bored of the Cyprus issue and the GCs old record being played again and again, Turkey is getting stronger and more influential, Greece is turning the other way, the GCs are preparing for a recession, Northern Cyprus is soon due to "Physically" link with Turkiye's Water line and move away from it's Electricity dependence on the southern GC-RC. BUT, most importantly, the youngsters on the Island of Cyprus, one both sides, DO NOT HAVE THE SAME PASSION as those Eoka old school boys. They just want their BMW's, Limassol Houses and Dumbs GC girls in the passenger seat.

The isolatino of Northern Cyprus will soon be lifted and INTEGRATION with Turkiye will be solidified until the Recognition of the TRNC right before Turkiye joins the EU in 2025! By then, the TRNC will have a Turkish population of 2million and the GC-south will be flooded with Bulgarians, Polish and Romanians........I LOVE the EU, don't you?

Mr H, you have a very vidi imagination. Two million people in the north, assuming they fit in there, is a nightmare of overcrowding and ecological disaster. You seem to gloat in that prospect. And us poor losers will have to contend with Bulgarians and other such low lifes who come in from the EU.

Given the two pictures you paint of north and south, there is no doubt in most peoples minds which is the more attractive prospect.
