How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I've concluded that most TCs aren't really interested in Islam, or religion generally, because most TCs are actually descended from indigenous Cypriots with few religious (or other) convictions. They simply "converted" during the arduous years of Ottoman rule to avoid tax and persecution. It's why they were spread so evenly all over the island rather than being focused in certain Ottoman strongholds. So there's nothing really very "T" about most TCs. Sad really, because the "T" bit is what's enabled Turkey to screw the island over in the modern era...

Cant really argue much with this. We are paying the for the mistakes of our ancestors.

I answer to Bananiot that posed the question on the crimes committed by Christians because he “strangely” do not remember that Europe has been harassed by Muslims since the early years following the death of Muhammad.

The first Crusade began in 1095:
- 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies,
- 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Islamic armies.
- 443 years after Muslims first plundered Italy
- 250 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of churches burned, killed, enslaved, forced conversions of Christians!!!

The Crusades were a lot more than just military expeditions: the first were pilgrimages, pilgrimages armed.
This was necessary to free the Holy Places by the Turkish occupation.
Because that occupation had made it impossible to hold a fact that throughout the Christian Middle Ages was a normal experience, but exhausting routine: the pilgrimage to the Holy Land to visit the places where Jesus lived.
So dear turcologist of my boots refresh your memory because by the time that started the Crusades, Muslim armies had conquered two thirds of the Christian world.

.... But of course you do ....... Trouble with people like Banana and your lot is you only look at your own side, whilst all the while you criticise the otherside of the same. In my book that makes you hypocrits.

Welcome back all the same.

Thanks for the welcome,B25...But I am not really back...I have given up on CF...I will just pop in every now and then to remind those who think like me that they are not alone... 8)

Now that we've got that one sorted out when do you both fly out to Turkey for the happy marriage ceremony?

Bir, a very good friend of mine (from our world) who came over for a holiday suffered a stroke and if you were in Brisbane I thought you could give him a call.
