They indeed can, but they don't, unless of course the Commanding Officer needs to make an unfortunate decision to open fire in order to defend the lives of his boarding party as no one can deny that at least 3-4 of them came within inches of being bludgeoned to death. The IDF simply did what any other military would've done under the exact same circumstances.

I am not a blind supporter of Israel, but am very dismayed at the antisemitic opinions expressed by so many of my compatriots, and so I have decided that even Israel deserves some good air time in the face of so much bullshit, because quite frankly, the opinions of some here are so similar to those of the Third Reich which was responsible for the Holocaust. The reason they stopped the ship was because they believe everyone who wants to help the Palestinians would do so by bringing weapons. That is the "excuse" Israel uses to keep Palestine sealed.

Yet there were no weapons on the ship. Nor were the people armed. The IDF had absolutely no excuse to board a ship in international waters and start to shoot everyone.

I do not support Israeli settlements and believe that an independent and viable Israel and Palestine is the only way to go. I also do not support Hamas or their terrorist activities, and also believe that Israel has a right and a moral obligation to defend itself and her citizens against any terrorist activity.

No! The reason why they stopped the ship is because the MAVI Marmara did not comply with IDF directives to divert course for Ashdod, where the aid can be inspected and transferred to Gaza. And yes, the reason why they want to inspect the aid, s to ensure that no arms or other banned materials enter Gaza and into the hands of Hamas.

Yet there were no weapons on the ship. Nor were the people armed. The IDF had absolutely no excuse to board a ship in international waters and start to shoot everyone.

There were cement products, bullet proof vests and Night Vision Goggles. These are banned items.

If you believe other wise then you are beyond help. But again, make my day and give me one good reason why Israel should just shoot people in an unarmed ship....

The IDF can blow any ship or boat out of the water, or board them and shoot indiscriminately. They have the means, but they do not because such actions can not be adequately defended against and will bring about much unwelcome attention to their actions and also polarise international opinion against them. They indeed can, but they don't, unless of course the Commanding Officer needs to make an unfortunate decision to open fire in order to defend the lives of his boarding party as no one can deny that at least 3-4 of them came within inches of being bludgeoned to death.
