Arrived in Larnaca Airport, without release paper work.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Arrived in Larnaca Airport, without release paper work.

Why do non speaking Greek Cypriot teenagers with Greek Cypriot names, have to be insulted at the new Larnaca Airport, and told they have to serve in the Army,if they have no release paper work with them? Holidays are disturbed and have to go to Larnaca,to sort out the matter, otherwise the teenager will not be allowed a flight off the Island.
Where is the European Union to directive for this matter?

Is EU going to fund a professional army in Cyprus or bring its own troops to defend the borders of our country?
For the time being there is no common defense for EU and each country has to arrange its own defense separately. Therefore EU is not in the position to give directives on this issue.

How exactly are those teenagers insulted by being told they have to serve in the army? Every Greek Cypriot male has to serve.

Except the 20% who duck out on the grounds of 'mental health problems'.

Which means (human rights) to leave your wife and childs and/or parents to be facked up by any idiod Anatolian wish to do so.

If G/cs had boarders with todays Italy or Netherlands then the human rights in this respect would be different but unfortunatetly we can not choose and we have to live with 16th century's dreams of Turkey.

Oh yeah?

I do remember reading a lot about how the Greeks went about to treat the woman and children in Turkey's war of independence. Even during defeat while they were evacuating from Western Turkey, was hardly considered EU.

SO what happened there?

Different strokes for different folks?

I also remember Greeks voluntarily going over to give the Serbs a "hand", not just in Cyprus. They seem to take every opportunity to kill a few Muslims.

So maybe you have civilized since?

CM last month:

Army doctor suspended over draft dodgers

http://www.cyprus-mail.com/cyprus/army- ... s/20100721

The army estimates that every year some 20 per cent of new conscripts manage to dodge the draft on psychological grounds.

Not very patriotic.
