A book from Brooklyn ...

Postby Oracle » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:56 am

Longtime American citizen and Cyprus-born Erasmia “Rose” Meitanis-Elisseou is a popular and energetic waitress at the Pegasus Restaurant, a favorite neighborhood spot here. But behind her ever-present smile is a personal history of strife and suffering with a hopeful message of peace, justice and freedom.

“I’m not selling my book. I’m giving it out to people in hopes of peace in Cyprus and in the world. There’s been too much suffering,” said Meitanis-Elisseou, holding a copy of her Lament In Prose, a new English version of her original Greek-language book released in 2007.

I feel her pain but am gladdened by her village escaping the tortures of the Coup and EOKA.... :D
