When did we struggle for independence GR? In 1955, the right started an armed struggle for the unification of Cyprus with Greece. To be fair, the left also supported enosis but disagreed on the form of the struggle. In 1967, when we realised that enosis was simply not on (after much blood was shed) and Makarios went for the feasible, it was too late. We should have thought of it in 1955. But, even after 1967, who could trust Makarios that he meant what he declared?

One more thing. The ottoman remnants, the Phoenician remnants, the Persian remnants, the Greek remnants, etc, are all native people of Cyprus. Too bad if you can not live with this GR.
